ZType (also spelled Z Type) is a free online space shooting game in which players control a spaceship and must type the words that appear on enemy spaceships to destroy them before they reach and damage the player's ship. Dominic Szablewski created the game, which was released in 2011.

The player's ship in ZType is controlled by the arrow keys or by tilting the device if playing on a mobile device. The enemies become faster and more numerous as the player progresses through the game, and the words become longer and more difficult to type. Ztype Gameplay Instructions
To destroy the enemy spaceships, use your keyboard to type the words displayed behind them.
The enemy spaceships will approach from the opposite side of the screen; shoot them before they get too close to your spaceship.

You will lose a life if an enemy spaceship reaches your spaceship. When you run out of lives, the game is over.
Power-ups and upgrades, such as extra lives and increased firepower, are available to you during gameplay.
